Saxophone player Bobby Keys convinced his grandfather to sign his over guardianship over to J.I. Allison so he could tour with The Crickets as a teenager before that bribing his way into Buddy Holly’s garage band rehearsals.
Keys went on to be a top touring and session player for musicians such as Elvis Presley, John Lennon and Yoko Ono, George Harrison, Delaney & Bonnie, Joe Cocker, B.B. King, Keith Moon, Sheryl Crow and countless others.
Has had an ongoing gig as a de facto Rolling Stone since 1970.
